First Aid at Work
Our First Aid at Work 3-day course is designed to assist your first aiders to meet the minimum requirements of the Health and Safety First Aid at Work Regulations (1981). This training will equip your staff with the knowledge and skills to deal with emergencies and give them the confidence to perform a variety of first aid procedures.
Who is it for?
Whether your company is big or small, high or low risk, this course is ideal for the person chosen to be the nominated First Aider.
What will you learn? 
- Bleeding (minor and severe)
- Burns
- Casualty movement
- Choking (adult)
- CPR (adult) including the use of an AED
- Fainting
- Primary Survey
- Seizures (adult)
- Shock
- Treating an unresponsive casualty
- Allergic reaction
- Asthma
- Bone, muscle and joint injuries
- Chest pains (including heart attack)
- Eye injuries, head injuries, spinal injuries
- Low blood sugar
- Poisons
- Sprains and strains
- Stroke
How is it assessed?
Delegates are continually assessed by our highly experienced St John Ambulance Cymru trainers in line with current HSE guidelines and in addition to an assessment paper.
Certification
Upon successful completion of this course, delegates will receive a St John Ambulance Cymru certificate, valid for 3 years.
